How do I help someone suffering from an asthma attack?
Help by acting calm and methodical.
Help the asthmatic to use his or her medicine.
Loosen tight clothing. If the symptoms do not pass, the person is unresponsive, is sitting forward, leaning over and is having severe difficulties breathing, phone an ambulance. They have medicines to quickly relieve the attack.
Phone the emergency ward or 112 if you feel unsure.
Always make sure that the person has the airways free.
If the asthmatic would like to drink something, give him or her some water.
