Test what you are allergic to

Scratch test
A small drop of an allergen is applied to the skin, which is then punctuated with a small prick. The drop is then wiped off and after about 15 minutes it can be seen whether any reaction has occurred, in the form of swelling, redness and/or itchiness. That indicates that the person having the test does not agree with the substance. 15 to 20 substances are usually tested on the same occasion.

Patch test
Used to test contact allergies. A drop of an allergen is placed on the skin and covered with a plaster. After two days a reaction reading is done, and after another day a new check is carried out.

Intracutaneous test
The allergen is injected under the skin.

Provocation test
A test performed by specialists. The allergic person is subjected to a small amount of the suspected allergen (you may, for example, inhale pollen) under supervision and the reaction is measured.

Blood test
Is taken to check if there are allergy anti-bodies in the blood. A general test can be done proving an allergy rather than hypersensitivity or a specific test can be done, showing which substances there is a question of.
