What triggers the asthma attacks?
Severe symptoms can be triggered by coming into contact with something you are allergic to, like furred animals, dust mites or by viral respiratory infections. Airway irritants such as tobacco smoke or strong fragrants can also trigger attacks. Many develop symptoms during body activity and in cold or damp weather.

Infection triggered asthma
Some young children only get asthma in connection with colds. If you belong to that group and neither you or anybody else in your family suffers from allergies, the chance of becoming symptom free is strong, especially if you follow the advice in the next paragraph.
Take your medicines as your doctor has instructed. Don't stop when you feel alright unless the doctor said so. Go for regular check-ups!!
Make sure the ventilation in your home is good, letting the damp and respiratory irritants out.

Try and avoid things that you are sensitive to.

If you have got smoking parents, try to make them quit or make sure that they smoke outside.
Keep fit by taking part in sport, swimming, cycling or exercise in another way. If you get symptoms during exercise, talk to your doctor.
